7 Reasons To Look Forward To Rugby Sevens At Rio 2016 Olympics

3. The Men€™s and Women€™s Teams Will Be Given Equal Coverage

12 men€™s and women€™s sides will be fighting it out for Olympic glory meaning a veritable feast of styles and of course two Team GB sides to cheer on. Although women€™s Sevens is played now and normally along side the men€™s tournaments, it lacks the exposure of their counterparts. The Olympics will hopefully have the same effect on the women€™s team as the Team GB women€™s football experienced. Over 70,000 watched them play at Old Trafford and they arguably had a more successful tournament than Stuart Pearce€™s men€™s side. With the FA already all but kyboshing the idea of more Olympic football in 2016, the Sevens should prove a perfect alternative to those requiring their team sport fix.
