12 mens and womens sides will be fighting it out for Olympic glory meaning a veritable feast of styles and of course two Team GB sides to cheer on. Although womens Sevens is played now and normally along side the mens tournaments, it lacks the exposure of their counterparts. The Olympics will hopefully have the same effect on the womens team as the Team GB womens football experienced. Over 70,000 watched them play at Old Trafford and they arguably had a more successful tournament than Stuart Pearces mens side. With the FA already all but kyboshing the idea of more Olympic football in 2016, the Sevens should prove a perfect alternative to those requiring their team sport fix.
