Arsenal Transfer News: Theo Walcott to Liverpool For £15 Million?

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to sign Arsenal winger Theo Walcott.

The Sun. Rodgers will test Arsenal's resolve by offering £15 million for the England international who only has one year left on his current deal at the Emirates and has made it known he won't be signing an extension. He currently earns £65,000 and reportedly wants to be brought more in line with his Euro 2012 team-mates on £100,000 a week. Walcott has also become disillusioned that the Gunners have won no trophies since he arrived at the club and the expected exiting of Robin Van Persie this summer is the latest sign that Arsenal are going in the wrong direction. Chelsea and Juventus have also been chasing the 23-year-old and are expected to make official bids soon. Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti may also come in with an offer to bring him to mega-rich Paris St. Germain, according to reports. Liverpool's pursuit of Walcott comes at a time when Brendan Rodgers and the Anfield hierarchy are trying to offload flop Andy Carroll but last night rejected a loan offer from Newcastle United to take him back to St. James' Park. The Merseyside club want to conduct a permanent deal to get Carroll off their books and it is expected that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will go back in with a second bid to bring Carroll back home.
