5. Arsenal Need Continuity
Stability is key to success. Even big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea have found that the key to success is having an established group of players, as well as finding the right balance with bringing in new players. Continuity is a key element of a team making a real impact at the top of the league, with dynamics between specific players and on-pitch relationships given the time to develop over a couple of seasons, and a strong foundation for pushing on. Though Alan Hansen's infamous assertion that you win nothing with kids was ultimately proved wrong, what he didn't understand was that the key element of Fergie's young team was not their age, but the fact that they were familiar with one another and had built up a playing relationship that translated into success on the pitch. Players need time to gel, and selling key players, especially those you might expect to play the majority of games, is not the way to breed that sort of stability. What do you think Arsenal fans?
