3. Hulk
Age: 25 Club: Porto Cost: £35-8 million Having watched Fernando Torres throughout the Euros and throughout last season, I am yet to be convinced that he can recapture the form he had at Liverpool. Whether this is because he has mentally lost it or whether the Chelsea system is not suited to him, I do not know, but one thing for sure is, Chelsea will not win the Premier League if they have only Danny Sturridge, Romelu Lukaku and Fernando Torres up front. Looking at Manchester Citys front line of Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko (and who knows maybe even Robin Van Persie), it is fair to say Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku would not get near the City starting eleven. Elsewhere at United, Hernandez, Rooney and Welbeck have all proven they can score goals, which the Chelsea trio have not done. Hulk is what Chelsea need because they dont necessarily need an out and out centre forward. What they do need is someone who can beat his man with pace, create goals and most importantly score them. Chelsea often at times last season look devoid of ideas when in the final third and struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. The lowly totals of Drogba and Torres highlighted how poor Chelsea were at scoring goals. Hulk would provide the best of both worlds for Chelsea. He would give them the goal threat going forward, as well as being able to play out wide. Not only being a technical player, Hulk also has a physical presence which should suit the Premier League. Hes already spoken openly about joining the Blues however he seems equally content to spend another season in Portugal.
