College Football: 6 Quarterbacks Who Will Star In 2014

2. Marcus Mariota, Oregon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OOba5A5V-A (2013 Stats: 3,665 passing yards, 63% completion, 31 TDs; 715 rushing yards, 9 TDs) Oregon has suffered from the "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride" disease in College Football the past few seasons. Despite having stacked teams who can play lights out on any given night, the Ducks have stumbled and suffered a bad loss mid-season, thus ending their national title hopes that year. I believe they've found a cure for that in Marcus Mariota. Relatively unknown out of High School, the Hawaiian native has become one of the best Quarterbacks in the nation with his accuracy and decision-making abilities. Mariota is the only player in Oregon football history to eclipse 4,000 yards of total offense, and has a 23-3 record as a starter with the Ducks. He pulled a 180 and chose to stay at Oregon for another year instead of going to the NFL Draft, and for my money, has the best shot of dethroning Jameis Winston for the Heisman trophy this season. A national championship berth could be dependent on Oregon's meeting with rival Stanford on the first day of November this year.
