Liverpool are trying to covertly ship out the butt of every Premier League joke for the last 18 months. With transfer rumours suggesting that Andy Carroll, one time the heir to Alan Shearer and the most gloriously haired man in the North who now plies his trade as Liverpool bench warmer and reason for Newcastles success, could be shipped out on loan. We here at WhatCulture Towers do not only see this news as Liverpool covering their blushes but as a great chance for Andy Carroll to revitalise his career and bring that well loved shine back to his locks. So here are 5 reasons Andy Carroll should leave Liverpool; its the best for everyone.
1. Brendan Rogers Tactics Wont Suit Him
Whilst Andy Carroll fits the bill of a classic British No. 9 being big, brutish, in possession of a large forehead and a love affair with alcohol; that isnt the a-typical kind of forward Brendan Rogers will want to use in his team of technically adept passers who enjoy walking the ball in to the net. A large forward to lump the ball to isnt the archetypal strategy for a man who bases his football on technical ability and if you ignore considerations that this makes most of Liverpools team redundant it makes Andy Carroll fruitless in the squad about to be developed. Andy Carroll is not a bad player, he proved at Newcastle that if his strengths are utilised properly then he can be a real threat, but will he get that at a team who dont have a soul focus? Whose focus is passing and slowly building the play by team unity. Not the individual strength of an individual, who can just as much fall over as well as rocket the ball near the net and have commentators saying hes back. In the right set-up he could be a real threat, he wasnt in that set up under Dalglish whose tactics were akin to putting him on the pitch and hoping her turned in to a £35 million player and he wont be in that set up under Brendan Rogers.
