Liverpool Transfers: 5 Strikers To Replace Andy Carroll

4. Robin Van Persie

Robin Van Persie announced months ago that he would not be renewing his contract with Arsenal, which is set to run out next summer. Having been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City, Van Persie is still awaiting a new club to call home. Van Persie has told Arsenal he wants to leave the Gunners despite manager Arsene Wenger trying his best to retain the striker. Whilst Liverpool would have to offer a huge sum for the 28-year-old, he could easily be affordable if Liverpool get a decent price for Carroll. They would likely offer him the wages he would require, though it's hard to imagine he would leave to join a club that isn't in the Champions League.
