Man City Transfer News: Edinson Cavani Approach Coming?

Goal.com, Edinson Cavani is considering leaving Napoli if they continue to fall short of silverware, his agent claims. Claudio Anelluci is the formal representative of the 26-year-old Uruguayan and according to Anelluci the striker is unhappy with the lack of silverware in his three years at the club. Anelluci has told Italian TV sports channel, Mattina Sport:

"Edinson has never expressed a desire to get away from Napoli. Cavani, however, is an ambitious type.€
He continued:
"He would like to win with his current club at the moment but wants to know what the conditions would be to do it. I think for a player who wants to win it is normal to ask his club what their expectations are for the future."
Napoli are currently second in Serie A, eleven points behind leaders Juventus but just four points clear of third place AC Milan. The league which is also home to Florentina, Lazio, Roma and Inter Milan is a difficult league, although it seems second place isn€™t enough for the ambitious striker. Manchester City, have been linked with the striker despite his ‚70 million valuation. Cavani€™s contract is set to run out in 2017 but if the club continue to fall short of his expectations he could be leaving as soon as this summer. Cavani is the top scorer in Serie A scoring 22 league goals in 27 appearances but his 31 goals in 36 games is something which will clearly draw real interest from the biggest clubs in the world.
