5. New Manager, New Start
Nani was plagued with injuries last season but even when available he only managed seven Premier League starts. It appeared that Ferguson's opinion of the Portugese winger had begun to wane, but the player revealed this week that it was new manager, David Moyes, who had convinced him to stay at the club. Nani
revealed that: "I am very content with my new deal at Manchester United, this summer was not easy but after a lot of thought and talking to David Moyes I believe it was the best solution". Moyes has been impressed with Nani's application in pre-season and moved quickly to offer him the new bumper contract,
stating that "I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years, he has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons". Nani clearly has Moyes' backing and is likely to get a lot more game time under the new manager, as long as he can stay injury free.
