Man Utd Vs Swansea City: You Won't Believe Van Gaal's Team!

Dutchman sends out a new look first 11 against Swansea City.

As expected it seems Louis Van Gaal is committed to playing 3-5-2 with United, but thanks to his lack of first team options and injuries to key members of the squad, the side that he's sending out against Swansea City in today's early kick-off has some serious shocks. Here's how United line up: Man Utd: De Gea; Jones, Smalling, Blackett; Lingard, Fletcher, Herrera, Young; Mata; Rooney (c), Hernandez There's no doubt that the likes of Blackett and Lingard are talented players, but are they really first teamers right now? Is Van Gaal gambling too much on the strength of the system without considering the individuals who will be forced to adapt to it? That accusation has appeared before, and this line-up will have others nodding sagely at the same idea, but then, if Blackett, Lingard and Hernandez prove strong stand-ins, there won't be a question of the decision being right. Swansea meanwhile line up much as expected... Swansea: Fabianski, Rangel, Amat, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Dyer, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Bony That looks a particularly strong Swansea line-up, though Bafetimbi Gomis will have to wait for his debut. Key to them taking advantage of United's supposedly "weaker" team will be Sigurdsson's attacking, and particularly the right-wing work of Nathan Dyer against Lingard. Manchester United have never won an opening day fixture at Old Trafford. Is this the day it finally happens?
