NFL: 5 Best Free Agent Signings

1. Cliff Avril

Cliff Avril If I could also put Michael Bennett here, I would, but Cliff Avril's signing is astonishing. Once the NFL season ended and free agency rumors started, many believed Avril would be asking for Mario Williams money (one of the biggest contracts in the NFL today). So explain to me, then, how the Seattle Seahawks stole Cliff Avril from the Detroit Lions by only signing him for 2 years, with only $13 million in total (with $6 million guaranteed)?! Combine this with the Michael Bennett signing (1 year, $5 million), and you have your clear-cut winners for free agency signings this year. The Seahawks were quite close to the Super Bowl, but with all the moves they have made in the past few weeks, one could argue that they are now the Super Bowl favorites for the NFC. Adding Avril, one of the most dominant pass-rushers in the league, to a defense that already has Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Bruce Irvin, is incredible. Avril was one of the top 3 defensive players on the marker for free agency, and could have commanded much more than this. Applaud the Seattle Seahawks, then, for what has to be considered the best free agent signing of the year. Did we miss any of the most eye-catching NFL free signings made this summer?
