NFL Draft 2015: 10 Things You Need To Know

1. There Can Be Huge Surprises

Like everything else in sport, nothing is certain, with the draft playing host to some huge surprises over the years, whether it be through later picks becoming stars, or top picks dramatically flopping. Last year's big shock came when controversial, Heisman-winning QB Johnny Manziel fell all the way down to become the 22nd pick, when he had been predicted to go much higher. New England Patriots' legendary QB Tom Brady was the 199th pick of the 2000 Draft, selected in the Sixth Round, meaning every other team in the league had numerous chances to take him on board. He has since gone on to win four Super Bowls, including three Super Bowl MVP awards, while he's also earned 10 Pro Bowl selections. He was an exceptional case of the draft throwing up a superstar from the later rounds. However, not all players are destined for success, as 2007 Number 1 Overall pick JaMarcus Russell lasted just three miserable seasons in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders in which time he dropped to the backup position before finally being released due to poor performances, along with weight and drug issues. Whoever the teams have in mind, one thing is guaranteed during the 2015 Draft, and it's the thing that the NFL engineers the entire league towards: Drama.
