NFL Draft 2015: 10 Things You Need To Know

9. The Order

Each draft is broken down into seven rounds across a three-day period, with each team being designated one pick in each round, unless they have already decided to trade some of their picks for existing talents in the NFL. The NFL is always trying to balance the teams to remain competitive, and therefore the teams pick in order of where they finished last season, with the worst teams selecting players first, meaning this year, Tampa Bay hold the Number 1 overall pick, with a quarterback their top priority after Josh McCown's miserable season in 2014. Each teams picks based on their needs, though there are successful teams who opt for the best players regardless of position, and build their side around them. Here is the full order for the first round: 1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2 Tennessee Titans 3 Jacksonville Jaguars 4 Oakland Raiders 5 Washington Redskins 6 New York Jets 7 Chicago Bears 8 Atlanta Falcons 9 New York Giants 10 St. Louis Rams 11 Minnesota Vikings 12 Cleveland Browns 13 New Orleans Saints 14 Miami Dolphins 15 San Francisco 49ers 16 Houston Texans 17 San Diego Chargers 18 Kansas City Chiefs 19 Cleveland Browns (traded from the Buffalo Bills) 20 Philadelphia Eagles 21 Cincinnati Bengals 22 Pittsburgh Steelers 23 Detroit Lions 24 Arizona Cardinals 25 Carolina Panthers 26 Baltimore Ravens 27 Dalla Cowboys 28 Denver Broncos 29 Indianapolis Colts 30 Green Bay Packers 31 New Orleans Saints (traded from Seattle Seahawks) 32 New England Patriots
