Mason Raymond

Both Batman and Vancouver forward Mason Raymond took only a few months to recover from broken backs delivered by opponents. Although Batman's recovery relied on the well-documented 'hanging from a rope' theory of back medicine prescribed by a doctor who lives in a pit in the desert, Mason Raymond relied on state of the art medical technology from some of the most expensive back doctors in North America. When they returned there was no noticeable difference in their playing styles or in the overall big picture.

7. Long Breaks Between Sightings

Batman took eight years off before returning and the ending was left open for another possible return years from now; Vancouver, after failing to win the Cup in their previous attempts in 1982,1994 and 2012 are now preparing for their next Stanley Cup push sometime around the year 2025.
