Premier League's Most Overrated Players By Position
10. RB - Héctor Bellerín - Arsenal
For almost a decade now, we've had to listen to Arsenal fans talk about the potential of Héctor Bellerín. The 24 year old joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2011 and has been a mainstay of the Gunners' defence ever since.
Well, that would be true, were he not one of the most injury prone players in the league. Bellerín has missed a total of 43 games for Arsenal through injury. And while that may not be as many as the likes of Daniel Sturridge, his injuries tend to come nicely spread out so that he misses important chunks of each season.
Alas, it's harsh to judge a player based on injuries alone, seeing as that's not his fault. So what does Héctor Bellerín provide to Arsenal? In over 160 appearances for the club he's racked up a grand total of 20 assists and 6 goals. Not a spectacular output but that's hardly surprising considering just how poor his crossing ability is. Then there's his defensive capabilities, which are extremely questionable.
Héctor Bellerín is one of so many modern full-backs who dazzle spectators with blistering pace but not much else. He sure looks the part but it might be time for Arsenal to look for a replacement.
