Ranking The Best Football Transfers In Europe During Summer 2019/20
34. David Luiz - Arsenal
Arsenal's defensive problems are extremely well known and how they resolve those problems has been an ongoing saga since the beginning of the window. The answer to those problems? Former Chelsea centre back and Brazil international, David Luiz.
While signing a centre back from Chelsea didn't go very well last time (anyone remember William Gallas?), Luiz might be exactly what the team need for now. He's incredibly experienced, has won major trophies for a number of top teams and has good technique for a defender. In fact, anyone who watches the Premier League will be aware of his ability to pull off defence splitting passes and score spectacular free-kicks.
While his abilities as a defender have certainly come into question, he's still an upgrade from some of the back line the Gunners had last year. The real issue with Luiz though is that he's been known to lose his head on occasions, which has often times led to calamitous situations for the teams he's playing for.
Whether or not he can cut that part of his personality out at this point in his career is highly unlikely. However, Arsenal fans will hope they'll see more of his finer qualities over the season.
