Real Madrid Next Manager: 5 Potential Replacements For Zinedine Zidane

1. Arsène Wenger

BetVictor are offering early 11/2 odds that Arsène Wenger will go on to take the top job at Real and launch a daring post-Arsenal adventure. Other sources, including The Sun, are convinced that Wenger is the favourite to succeed Zinedine Zidane.

It'd certainly be one of the most news-worthy appointments in recent football memory.

Wenger, despite revolutionising the English game in the mid-90s, hasn't won a top-tier title since 2004. A smattering of FA Cups since won't impress those at the top table in Spain, and so the mild-mannered gentleman Wenger cuts would come as a contrast to the white-hot passion usually visible in the Spanish capital.

A notorious fan of building young players up and showing faith in their abilities, Wenger wouldn't have the luxury of time at Real. He'd need to prove that he still has what it takes to win in the modern game and hasn't been left behind by other, forward-thinking coaches.
