Now the spearhead of the Brazilian national team, Damião has been tipped by the great Ronaldo (Brazilian) himself to play a huge part in future years for Brazil. Tall, strong, skillful with both feet and a threat in the air, Damião is famed in Brazil for his exceedingly high work ethic. A late bloomer, Damião only started playing professional football in 2010. As a youngster Damião did not find much success playing as a midfielder, often being rejected from various clubs when on trials. Nearly giving up football, Leandro picked himself up and moved to play as a striker for Atlético Tubarão going on an upward curve thereafter. Scoring a blistering 70 goals in 115 games for Internacional, the 23 year old has all the attributes it takes to succeed in the Premier League. However, despite not high wage demands it could be the transfer fee, for Internacional, that plays a deciding factor in Damião's arrival in Europe. If Spurs wish to secure a Champions League place next season and challenge for the title this is the man they definitely need to bolster their squad.
