UFC: 10 Biggest Prospects

9. Rustam Khabilov

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yTnTxJSZow (Please ignore the annoying sounds in the above video) Khabilov is currently 2-0 in the UFC and has amassed a record of 16-1, very impressive indeed. The Russian lightweight's UFC debut was quite incredible, ragdolling a formerly undefeated TUF veteran in Vinc Pinchel en route to a first round KO via suplex and GNP. His debut in the UFC raised some eyebrows and he was then matched up against prospect Yancy Medeiros. Though the fight ended via unfortunate injury to Medeiros, Khabilov was awarded the victory and can now recuperate and face another tough test at 155. Rustam has been training at Jackson's Gym in Albuquerque, NM with some of the best in the world and that can only mean he will grow even further and become a tricky fight for any opponent. To show the impressiveness of his record, the only blemish came via controversial split decision against a fellow Russian who was on a six fight win streak. Khabilov has won both of his UFC fights and has notched up wins over former UFC fighter Jason Dent and One FC veteran Rodrigo Ribeiro. If the Russian shows a similar level of progress and uses his strength along with his impressive Sambo, expect to see Khabilov creep into the top 10 fairly soon. Preferred next fight: Francisco Trinaldo
