UFC: 10 Biggest Prospects

5. Jimi Manuwa

Jimi Manuwa is a guy many UK fans wanted to see in the UFC for years. Undefeated as a pro and 2-0 in the UFC, it is no wonder why many Brits are calling Manuwa the next big thing. On the regional circuit, the UK representative has mustered up an impressive record of 13-0, with 12 by way of (T)KO and 1 via submission. Though Manuwa is 33, there is no denying that he is a contender after beating the likes of Cyrille Diabate and Kyle Kingsbury in the UFC and, in conjunction with the fact he is very marketable in the Blighty, he looks set to face tougher tests in the future. Poster Boy is an appropriate moniker for him as he has participated in a number of main events across the UK and may go on to be in a UFC main event should they return to his motherland in the future - if he can get one or two more victories on his UFC resumé. As mentioned with examples prior to this slide, it would be good for the UFC if they opted for a slow and steady approach with Manuwa. A fight with a tougher opponent to who he has previously faced would be sensible on a marketability standpoint, but an immediate leap to a top-10 fighter would not be. Therefore, the likes of Matt Hamill or Vinny Magalhães could be sensible but Te Huna would be my favourite available option for the Brit. Preferred next fight: James Te Huna
