UFC: 10 Reactions To The Jon Jones Cocaine Scandal

2. Dana White

Dana White allowed the match between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier to go ahead despite Jon Jones cocaine habit being known to the promotion for weeks. He's not coming under a lot of fire for not acting sooner. In defence of his decision to let the show go on, White told Fox Sports 1 the following;
No. 1, he was healthy. No. 2, the reason you would stop the fight and the hammer would drop on the guy would be if he tested for performance-enhancing drugs. Jon Jones was contracted to fight, and everyone thinks we can just say, €˜the fight's off, the fight's not happening.' He had the right to fight.
He then went on to say that;
You worry about the person first. Forget about the fighting and the work side of it and you worry about Jon Jones as a person. He got checked into rehab, they're going to be able to evaluate him, and then we'll go from there.
However, is letting the man fight worrying about the person first? Is not telling Daniel Cormier fair to him?
