UFC 174: 11 Matches To Make For The Winners

8. Yves Jabouin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sMzV6KkvxA Fighting out of Montreal, Haitian fighter Yves Jabouin has been trading wins and losses of late, and Saturday's win over Mike Easton was just that - a win, that brings him to 2-2 in his last four fights, over a fighter in Easton who is now 0-4. Probably the low point of the preliminary card, Yves is going to be looking to start building a streak (his last win streak was a 3-fight winning stretch in the UFC in 2011-2012) to get out of the back and forth he's found himself stuck in of late. A veteran of the WEC, Jabouin has fought a lot of names between the two companies, but he's somewhat stuck in limbo, unable to break out from the back. Fellow WEC alum Takeya Mizugaki is sitting on a 5-fight win streak and ranked sixth in the bantamweight division. The two have never fought, but Mizugaki would have nothing to gain from the pairing, as he should be looking for a title eliminator. Someone like TUF winner Chris Holdsworth, or Sergio Pettis, who recently snagged his first UFC win, could definitely test themselves against Jabouin, and that's probably the best option - move him to gatekeeper status and see how up and comers fare; if he builds up a streak at that point, a higher level pairing would then make sense.
