UFC: 5 Reasons Daniel Cormier Is A Threat To Jon Jones

4. He's Used To Fighting Big Guys

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvRubxyIURg Jon Jones has a reach advantage. We hear that in every single fight, and we will hear it again leading up to Jones vs. Cormier, but try to ignore it, because Daniel Cormier is used to fighting bigger, longer guys. Cormier was small for a heavyweight. He had the pounds, perhaps because he admittedly loves Popeye's fried chicken so much, but he never had the height. At 5"11 (1.80m), he was probably the shortest guy in the division. Heck you have Mike Dolce claiming in the press this week that Cormier could make 185, nevermind light heavyweight! However, at heavyweight, before he took weight cutting seriously, he beat guys like Soa Palelei, Josh Barnett, Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, Frank Mir, Jeff Monson, Devin Cole... those are solid names. A hit list like that had him well on his way to a title shot at heavyweight, at least until he dropped down to avoid fighting his pal Cain. So Cormier should be used to being the smaller guy with the shorter reach in the octagon.
