UFC Fight Night Dublin Sells Out In Mere Hours

Has Connor McGregor come through? UFC Dublin sells out in hours. The UFC has announced that UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin, Ireland has sold out mere hours after going on sale earlier today. The event marks the organization€™s first trip to Ireland in approximately five years, but is it due to Irish MMA star Conor McGregor, who bet a title shot with Dana White that the event would be the fastest selling in UFC history? McGregor is the brash, trash-talking, rising featherweight star, one of the hottest names in the MMA business at the moment. In betting Dana White for a shot at the featherweight title, a bet to be taken with a hefty grain of salt to be sure, McGregor gambled that his newly found star power would be enough of a draw to fill the building. And while the final result as to whether the feat of fastest-selling event has been achieved is yet to come out, fill the building he did. The response by Irish fans is certainly impressive - though we should keep in mind the old "absence makes the heart grow fonder" adage when it comes to an area the UFC hasn't set foot in for years. Still, there's no question that the fast-talking featherweight will take full advantage of the quick sellout, especially with originally advertised opponent Cole Miller falling to injury and being replaced with Diego Brandao just a few days back. As for those hoping to get in to the sold-out event, UFC.com reports there are still some VIP packages available, but regular seating is long gone.
