UFC On FOX 12: Lawler vs. Brown Main Card Predictions

Clay Guida vs. Dennis Bermudez

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXTlrU0zC4M Weight Class: Featherweight Once upon a time, Clay Guida was a fan favourite for his relentless energy in the octagon. Then something not altogether unexpected happened: he began employing a hit-and-run, point fighting style of fighting that fans really don't like - but that coaches, such as Greg Jackson, who Guida trains under, espouse. Fans began to turn. "Greg Jackson Ruined Clay Guida" screamed the headlines. It's hard to argue that his style hasn't grown dull, and he hasn't won a fight by knockout or submission since 2011, but that doesn't mean he's an entirely boring fighter. Guida's movement alone makes him fun to watch at times, and so long as he attempts to engage, this should be a good fight. Since dropping to featherweight, however, the Illinois-born fighter (31-14) has been stuck serving as a gatekeeper, and the next fighter to test him will be TUF 14 alum Dennis Bermudez, who is currently on a six fight win streak since losing at the TUF 14 finale, a win streak that includes three performance/fight of the night bonuses. This is basically a test to see if Bermudez is really title-shot worthy, though he'll probably need at least two more victories should he get past Guida - and he should. It might come down to an ugly decision, but expect Bermudez to prove he's ready for more.
