Who Should Conor McGregor Fight Next? 5 Possible Opponents
2. Nate Diaz
1388655The epic trilogy we all want to see. Nate Diaz remains the only fighter on this list to beat McGregor after he submitted the Irishman at UFC 196. Remarkably Diaz only had eleven days notice after taking the fight.
The younger brother of former Strikeforce and WEC Welterweight champ Nick Diaz, Nate is a formidable fighter with fantastic ground game. The brothers' infamous Stockton Slap is a move straight out of WWE. Diaz uses his tall frame to his advantage, sneaking in strong chokes and opening his opponents up with powerful punches from the top. Nate builds off his slow footwork with precise stiff jabs. He also has solid underrated boxing defence.
Fans need to see a conclusion to the McGregor vs Diaz saga. Both crowd favourites currently claim a victory apiece as Conor avenged his loss via unanimous decision at UFC 202. The two fighters are obvious cash cows as their rematch headlined the second highest UFC pay-per-view, only recently beaten by McGregor's fight against Khabib.
Diaz has claimed he isn't interested in fighting McGregor again as he seems to be enjoying the party life. However if he wins on his return at UFC 241 then a final fight with McGregor is surely inevitable and worth a massive payday!
