Women's FIFA World Cup: 10 Players To Look Out For

7. Fara Williams (England)

Even the more casual followers of women€™s football will have heard the name Fara Williams at some stage. There€™s good reason for that too, as she€™s an absolute England legend. The 31-year-old has been a mainstay of the Lionesses team for the best part of 15 years and is the most capped senior player in any England side. Meanwhile, she also sits third on the list of women€™s scorers and is still very much a key member of Mark Sampson€™s squad. She has already lifted the WSL title on two occasions and would love to help England to their best tournament performance here. Her experience could be key at the heart of Sampson€™s midfield whilst her ability with a dead ball is another potential secret weapon for the girls. Williams still has a tournament or two left in her but this could be the last chance for her to really influence the team. If she plays as she did for Team GB at London 2012 then England might just emerge as a surprise package.
