A co-hosted World Cup between Uruguay and Argentina would hold considerable sentimental appeal, given the fact that the first ever tournament was held in South America. Uruguay hosted the inaugural edition in 1930, and played out the first ever final with their neighbours. The two countries easily have enough large stadiums to host either the 2018 or 2022 World Cup, but are low on this list due to the fact that a second successive South American tournament is unlikely. Additionally, it would perhaps make more sense to save such an arrangement for the 2030 tournament, marking one hundred years since the World Cup's inception. Ideal Final Venue: Estadio Centenario, Montevideo - the site of the first ever World Cup final.
