10 Huge Revelations You Missed From Star Trek: Prodigy

7. Over-arcing Matters

As stated earlier, Prodigy's airing on Nickelodeon led to the belief that the show was for younger viewers only.

How wrong that assumption has been!

Viewers choosing not to watch the show are missing out on a series that is accessible to all and has woven a fairly well-plotted story arc that has carried through the whole 20-episode series.

Prodigy's pacing has been on point from the start, exploring the characters, dropping Easter eggs about their pasts from the first minute of Lost and Found. With a shorter run time than live-action Star Trek, each half-hour episode leaves as many questions unanswered as it tends to tick off. The Living Construct/Vau N'aquat dilemma remains the central threat to the show but fans are treated to further exploration of the Delta Quadrant, a region of space last visited in the Voyager finale Endgame.

Even by the end of the season, it would be hard for Trekkies not to feel some attachment to the characters or where their stories lead. Truly powerful writing.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
