Shinzon’s very existence, his ticking down lifeclock (he might as well have a red crystal in his palm a la Logan’s Run), and all the pain and suffering he’s endured was the doing of the Romulans. So, once he stages and coup, seizes power, and commands the baddest battle wagon around with its planet-killing Medusa Radiation, what does he reveal his master plan to be?

Attack Earth. Kill every living thing on it.

Why is it always the Earth? The Star Trek movies became obsessed with it. Earth is directly endangered in The Motion Picture, The Voyage Home, First Contact, and Star Trek 2009. Sure, V’ger originated from Earth, the whale probe is looking for missing Humpbacks, and the Borg are attempting a re-do of their first attempt on Earth. But Shinzon? What’s his motivation? The Romulans wrecked his life and practically ensured his death, but hey, who needs revenge on them when he can kill the planetary home of his unwitting DNA donor?

Yeah yeah… he’s this dumb movie’s dumb villain with dumb motivations.

In that latter capacity he game designer/writer on the Sega Genesis/SNES "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine — Crossroads of Time" game, as well as Dreamcast "Ecco the Dolphin, Defender of the Future" where Tom Baker performed words he wrote.
