Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that not only was the Shrike bridge a reuse of the lower deck of the La Sirena but that the command area of the USS Titan-A was also a returning element of the show.

Refurbishing the bridge set from season two's USS Stargazer, there were additional tactical consoles added plus two large OLED screens on the aft science station. The two flanking command chairs were upgraded with tactical interfaces so that the crew would be able to perform tasks and one is used by Picard himself to launch torpedoes.

The observation lounge received some touch-ups in detail as well as those new models although more was needed given that most of the season's action takes place aboard the hero starship with definite parallels to the nebulous action of The Wrath of Khan and the ultimate sacrifice of its captain to save the crew through both Spock and Shaw's actions.

Overall there were 18 new sets created for the USS Titan-A. As noted by Dave Blass, each was not without its challenges although the most complex set to build was sickbay which involved lots of new developments.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
