Star Trek: 10 Weirdest Holodeck Episodes

3. The Killing Game

You might have thought the peculiar likes of Fair Haven, and especially Spirit Folk, the bad case of Seska in Worst Case Scenario, the bendy, hallucinogenic Twisted, or Arachnia, Queen of the Spider people, would make it to this list. In truth, they were all up for consideration, and Star Trek: Prodigy's Kobayashi and Ghost in the Machine very nearly made it too. However, it's The Killing Game (both parts) that wins out as one of the most offbeat episodes, holodeck or no!

The cold-opener gets the two-parter off to a start that is as bold as it is out-of-the-ordinary. Captain Janeway's a Klingon now?! No, wait, there's a Hirogen, and he's calling Sickbay from Holodeck Two because he's just stabbed Janeway. What in the goddamned Delta Quadrant is going on?

Naturally, the Hirogen had conquered Voyager just to turn it into one giant holodeck for their "sick little game." Klingon swordsmanship and heavy drinking aside, it's not long before Godwin's law of Star Trek episodes kicks in and most of the crew find themselves believing they're in World War II. Janeway switches roles with Chakotay as head of the Resistance, and Seven of Nine is cut off mid-song. Things just get weirder from there, not least with that pop quiz in the corridor! The Doctor didn't have to lug around his mobile emitter for a while, at least.
