10 Most Iconic Friends Moments Of All Time

3. She Got Off The Plane

Friends Season 10
NBC

One thing that the writers of Friends wanted to get right was that every character would have a happy ending when season ten finished. For a while it didn't look like Ross would get his wish, but thankfully, after an incredibly tense chase around the airports of New York, he did.

Rachel was moving to Paris with work, and though there wasn't really much said with regards to Ross' access to his daughter, he was relatively accepting of it. It wasn't until she gave everyone a heartfelt goodbye except for him that the problem arose.

He demanded to know why he was left out, and was shut down immediately by Rachel telling him that it was simply too hard, that he meant more to her than any of the other four. Almost too late, Ross realised just how much she meant to him, and he tried to stop her from boarding her flight.

Listening to Rachel's apology on his answering machine was incredibly difficult for him, and everyone watching, as it seemed that they wouldn't end up together after all they had been through. Then she rethought her decision, and after five of the tensest seconds in Friends history, she revealed that she did, in fact, get off the plane.
