10 Most Messed Up Twin Peaks Moments
1. The Woodsman's Broadcast
Technically, the messed up moment in question should be the entirety of episode eight of the 2017 series, as those who have seen it will testify. It's something else again. The final scene, however, is the most memorable, and also one of the most masterfully creepy moments ever created in the show's history.
Born from the ashes of the first atomic bomb test, the enigmatic Woodsmen embark on their mission to spread evil across the land, which includes a murderous visit to a local radio station.
Happy to kill almost anyone who gets in his way, The Woodsman, whose only rhetoric, is the request of 'Gotta light?', crashes a broadcast, cuts the music and repeatedly spouts the limerick of "This is the water, and this is the well... Drink full and descend... The horse is the white of the eyes... and dark within..."
As a result, the entire town is mentally and physically knocked for six, and throughout this message, the Woodsman bare-handedly crushes a man's skull into a bloody pulp.
It's bizarre, scary and totally unforgettable. A masterpiece of avant-garde television if there ever was one.
