10 TV Shows That Made You Love Killers

1. Rick And Morty - Rick

There are a few ways one can grow to love Rick. There is the sort of toxic way some fans of the show do where they hold up Rick as a role model: a smart, powerful man exerting a just kind of control over others - a similar interpretation to that made by some fans of Walter White in Breaking Bad.

Alternatively, one can determine that Rick is not a good person and still get sucked into caring about him. Rick can be such an awful man because he has found that he can do just about anything. He’s the dark side of any fantasy of complete knowledge and power. All of this has left him broken and we have to meet him in this brokenness. The show doesn’t hesitate when showing how little Rick values the lives of most other people (or aliens or whatever), but, like other killers on this list, we are made to understand what lies underneath the surface apathy. In this case, it results in some heartbreaking moments: when we see Rick nearly commit suicide, it’s horrifying. We don’t want it to happen despite all the horrible things Rick does.

He’s the toxic friend you can’t help but love. He’s the family member you don’t want to see again, but couldn’t wish harm on.
