When Brooklyn Nine-Nine first premiered in 2013 the dynamic friendship and trust between Jake Peralta, Charles Boyle, and Raymond Holt was introduced as being one of the focal points of the series.

There's no question that one of the most prominent friendships is the one between Jake and Charles. Although their different personalities, Jake and Charles always work to strengthen their relationship. However sometimes they’re both pretty terrible, in their ways.

Jake is immature and selfish. Charles is possessive and too much of an open book. Yet, the fact that these two have no overlapping interests and still are best friends, makes their friendship especially precious.

Jake and Holt's relationship is one of the most inspiring. The typical relationship between a captain and a detective has evolved significantly throughout the show. Jake went from calling Holt a “robot”, to calling him "dad". Holt went from viewing Jake as an immature kid to seeing him as his immature kid, who is capable of great things. While Holt teaches Jake to be serious, Jake teaches Holt to loosen up and learn to have a sense of humour.

Both Charles and Holt have no shortage of hilarious, touching and completely heartwarming moments with Jake, but were you attentive enough to guess who said these quotes to him?

1. "All Music After Mahler Sounds Exactly Like That."
