10 UFC Stars Who Couldn't Back Up Their Words

7. Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier may be a die-hard WWE fan, but he hasn't quite mastered the art of the convincing babyface promo.

Always coming across like a teddy bear who's had his porridge eaten by his rival, Cormier isn't known for being the most intimidating talker in the game - regardless of how impressive his record in the Octagon is.

His feud with Jon Jones encapsulated this perfectly.

Cutting a confident figure in their press conferences before both fights, Cormier begged Jones to try and murder him in the lead up to their first bout. Sounding like a true cartoon superhero, DC even told his adversary that 'you could never kill me'.

Maybe not legitimately, but he may as well have done when they met in the Octagon.

DC was beaten by unanimous decision in their first encounter at UFC 182 and was conclusively knocked out in their rematch at UFC 214 - even though that decision was overturned due to Jones failing a drug test.

Even with the result being changed, Cormier came out of both fights with egg on his face.

Before the second fight, he even went as far as to say that there was 'no reason he would not get (his) hand raised' against his great rival, which made his tears after that encounter even more humiliating.

Cormier definitely comes across as one of the good guys of MMA. It's just a shame that he has been made to look like such a fool whenever Jones has been in the picture.
