UFC 244 Predictions

Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your hats, beers or whatever you might have in your hands, because this fight is going to be something special. If you've been following our monthly UFC fight guide or prediction pieces, you'll know that we've been extremely high on Vicente Luque for quite awhile.

The 27-year old American Top Team product has slowly, but surely made a name for himself as one of the most badass, all-action fighters in the entirety of the UFC. He's essential viewing for all fans of violence. It doesn't matter if the fight stays on the feet or if it goes to the ground, Luque is a threat in every single position and is constantly attacking his opponents.

After fighting a lot of mid-card opponents, he finally gets his big test against former title contender Stephen Thompson. Considered by many as the most versatile kicker in the game, Thompson's attacks are mostly down to the mastery of his feet. He's certainly got good boxing, but his bread and butter usually involves connecting his shin with his opponent's face. When comparing both of their fight styles together, it can only lead to one thing - fireworks!

While Luque has earned his top-15 ranking by shellacking decent opponents, this might be too much too soon for him. Even though he wasn't able to win a title, Thompson is proven at the top level and that should earn him a win against a tough opponent.
