Last night's NXT UK wasn't good.

What's surprisingly, really, is that every match on last night's show was actually good in its own way. Noam Dar and Nathan Frazer's show-opening Heritage Cup Rules match was a banger, as we'll touch upon at the end. The other two matches - Mark Andrews vs. Levi Muri, and the five-woman Women's Championship number one contender's gauntlet match - were also fine contests in terms of what they offered from an in-ring perspective.

It was the booking that held them back. Andrews, who was debuting his new SUBCULTURE schtick on the episode alongside Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna, shouldn't have been made to look like an incapable grappler against the perennial jobber that is Levi Muir. As for the gauntlet match - where does your writer even begin? Again, a solid match, but it simply couldn't be an Up because of how it played out.

Elsewhere on the show, Pretty Deadly spoke of their NXT UK Tag Team Championships win over Gallus despite it occurring three months ago, Sam Gradwell got into it with Trent Seven at the UK Performance Center, and Sid Scala sat down with A-Kid and Tyler Bate before their Heritage Cup Championship match next week.

Let's get to it...
