10 AEW Matches We Most Want To See

1. Jon Moxley Vs. Kenny Omega

Just the thought of Kenny Omega planting his head onto the canvas, at the mercy of Jon Moxley's new Death Rider finish, is cause enough to slaver over this ghoulish prospect.

This genuine dream match, almost certain to materialise at ALL OUT, promises a new dimension to this awesome brick sh*thouse update on the Jon Moxley character. Kenny Omega isn't a gutsy, spirited babyface with more heart than perhaps brains; he is a cerebral wrestler of incredible versatility, able to dissect with flair the back and necks of his opponents as set-up for the One-Winged Angel.

Moxley in contrast is violent beast. Were Omega to position him for his finish, Moxley would not use his athleticism and agility to manoeuvre out of it, à la Kazuchika Okada. He would simply rain down elbows upon his temple. Both men have a kink for testing their bodies on industrial-strength tables, and so this thing is going to be as gritty and dramatic as it is going to be genuinely disturbing.

It is also unpredictable. Omega enters Chicago as the Ace of AEW. Moxley enters as a man who can't lose, which manifests as a gruesome classic boasting the rarest strain of pro wrestling drama and stakes. Moreover, there is very little chance of Moxley not doing something worse to Omega than the lunatic throw from a fearsome height that concluded Double Or Nothing.

Inject it.

Inject the ultra-violence.
