10 AEW Stars Who Will Be Champions In 2023

There will be a number of stars eyeing up an AEW Championship in 2023.

2022 was perhaps AEW's most difficult year due to a number of injuries suffered by big stars and a clear downturn in backstage relations that led to a lot of drama in the company. The promotion has started to settle and find its way back to form in recent months, with Full Gear being a hopeful glimpse into the exciting future of the brand.

One of the minor issues that AEW has thrust upon itself in recent times has been that there are far too many titles within the organisation at the moment. The company used to be very careful about not overindulging in championships, but ever since Tony Khan acquired Ring of Honor this has decidedly changed.

Despite the clear oversaturation of titles on AEW television, the distinction of holding singles, tag, or trios gold remains a special one. The TNT and TBS Championships have established a proper midcard accolade for wrestlers to fight for, whilst the Tag Team Titles remain one of the company's most sought-after achievements. The Women's Championship has been elevated in recent times, and the men's World Title could arguably still be regarded as the most prestigious in all of wrestling today.

Holding any of these accomplishments is a huge honour for AEW stars to achieve, which is why many wrestlers will be vying for them in 2023.

10. House Of Black

The House of Black recently returned to AEW on Dynamite, obliterating Best Friends and The Factory in the process. Not too long ago, HOB's future within the company was uncertain with whispers that members of the group, especially their leader Malakai Black, were angling for an exit from the promotion.

The sinister faction's first run in the company was good and they managed to gather a sizeable following from a section of the AEW audience. However, the group did not have much to fight for when they were last in AEW, usually getting involved in a number of multi-man feuds that would go on for too long.

Introducing the Trios Championships into AEW has given factions like the House of Black a proper reason to fight as a unit, which will provide them with some much-needed direction that was lacking in their previous run. The group could feasibly challenge either The Elite or Death Triangle after their Best of Seven series concludes, which would continue profiling the Trios Titles as a prestigious honor within the company.
