10 AEW Wrestlers Who Have Been Booked Terribly In 2022

There are two reasons to build up a monster in professional wrestling.

One is to make them a dominant, all conquering force that runs roughshod through the competition and sits at the top like the final boss of a video game. The other, is for the credibility the hero gets when they topple him.

Sadly, Lance Archer's credibility has been whittled away by continuously bad booking that has made him seem like a loser. He hit the ground running in AEW, but after a few big defeats to Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley for their respective titles, Archer became a choke artist.

Strange feuds with Eddie Kingston and PAC didn't really have an ending, and on the few occasions that Tony Khan has called on Archer to provide a stop gap challenge to a champion, nobody has bought it. In February this year, absolutely nobody thought the 'Murderhawk' had any hope of defeating Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match.

Even in a match with no rules, this monster couldn't get the job done.

Reading his Cage Match for 2022 is a sorry sight. Apart from his tour in New Japan Pro Wrestling, he's either been exclusively on Dark or Dark Elevation, beyond a few multi-man matches where, you guessed it, he lost.

We used to believe that everybody dies. Apparently, when it comes to Tony Khan's booking of Lance Archer, only one man does.
