10 Amazing Heel Turns That WWE Immediately Ruined

9. Tatanka

During the early half of the '90s, Tatanka was quite the popular babyface act in the then-WWF. As part of that run, the Native American amassed an impressive two-year undefeated streak on TV, picking up wins over a slew of heels of the day - including Rick Martel, Bam Bam Bigelow, Doink the Clown, the Warlord, the Mountie, Razor Ramon, and Shawn Michaels.

Like all good things, Tatanka's undefeated days had to come to an end, and they did just that against Ludwig Borga on an October '93 episode of WWF Superstars. Still, one positive of this loss, was that he was kayfabe injured by WWF Champion Yokozuna, leading one to believe Tatanka would have Yoko and the WWF Title in his crosshairs when he returned to action.

Despite having numerous house show matches against Yokozuna, Tatanka only locked up with the big man once on TV; a loss in the build to WrestleMania X. After that, the real-life Chris Chavis trod water until he turned heel at SummerSlam '94.

That heel turn saw Tatanka - who had accused Lex Luger of selling out to Ted DiBiase - turn on Luger and join DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation. At the time, this was a genuinely huge shock and, with the Million Dollar Man to serve as his mouthpiece, it looked to be the ideal way to get Tatanka to that next level.

Rather than propel Tatanka into the main event picture, though, this heel turn just made him another generic member of Million Dollar Corporation, and he'd largely be featured in throwaway tag bouts once his rivalry with Luger ended.
