Much like how WWE is building to its future, Tony Khan is doing the same with AEW to bounce back from a rough two years to find a more solid foundation. AEW is in the midst of finding a balance between silly (in a non-obnoxious way) gimmicks like Harley Cameron's shtick and more serious pro wrestling action like the Bryan Danielson arc.
Homegrown talent like Daniel Garcia, Darby Allin, and Orange Cassidy are getting pushed more now than ever before, while guest acts like Nigel McGuinness can step in for some amazing highlights.
AEW is returning to its bread and butter of celebrating pro wrestling and offering an alternative to WWE, while also proving how concepts that failed there can still work, like The Hurt Syndicate.
Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and more are paving the way for what could be seen as AEW's equivalent of the New Generation to Attitude Era switch, if we're lucky and things continue to be as fun as they've been lately.
