10 Awesome WWE Wrestling Match Sequels No One Ever Talks About
1. Edge & Shawn Michaels’s Bloody Street Fight On Raw (2005)
Shawn Michaels shows up again and stakes his claim as maybe the best wrestler ever to have sequel matches with, with him telling ever evolving stories when wrestling opponents more than once.
Shawn and Edge had put on a 20 minute thriller at Royal Rumble (2005) that helped cement Edge further up the ladder to main event status. It also helped portray him as the ultimate opportunist, rolling up Shawn with his hands on the rope for leverage for the win.
Looking for revenge, Michaels took on Edge a month later on Raw in a breathtaking street fight that many fans overlook for taking place on TV rather than pay-per-view. This was a fight as compared to their straight up wrestling match at the Rumble, with both of them wearing street attire and beating each other senseless throughout.
In the end Shawn countered a running spear with Sweet Chin Music and threw his exhausted body over Edge’s for the win. Kurt Angle interfered afterwards too to help setup Michaels vs. Angle at WrestleMania when he brutally beat a bloody Shawn Michaels. This is truly a Raw main event to go back and watch.
