Botches within the wrestling world can usually be spotted a mile away.

After all, it's pretty damn difficult to hide the visual of an unfortunate performer failing to execute a move in the way they had hoped, or sound of a flapping star completely messing up their lines when delivering their big promo moment.

Difficult, but not impossible.

There have actually been a number of times over the years when a talented in-ring worker, or even the folks behind the curtain, have completely fumbled a segment, match, or beatdown without you likely even realising a mistake had been made.

You probably simply assumed a wrestler was supposed to look like they were being choked unconscious, or that a rather bizarre skit was going entirely to plan. In reality, though, each of the following wrestling moments all possessed some pretty awkward fails, and you were no doubt just too lost in the mayhem to notice things had unquestionably gone wrong.

So, prepare to never look at these bouts, angles, and promos the same way ever again, folks, as this list examines those hidden wrasslin' blunders that were sitting right under your nose.

10. Colt Cabana Nearly Dies In Chris Jericho Match Due To His Socks

Colt Cabana's first Dynamite appearance in a year back in November 2022 may have seemed like an entirely wonderful moment for the All Elite star, but it was actually a potentially deadly evening for him thanks to one secret and rather embarrassing behind-the-scenes botch.

As Cabana would eventually recall on his Art of Wrestling podcast (via F4WOnline) a few weeks after wrestling Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship on TV, the ROH legend lost the football socks he'd usually wear as part of his gear beforehand.

And after heading out to the store to grab some new ones before the bout, Cabana could only get his hands on a pair of compression socks for this big Dynamite encounter.

Little did Cabana know that by throwing on these socks for the match, he'd actually just created a tourniquet for the lower half of his frame.

Sure enough, Colt was completely exhausted by the time he performed a moonsault to the outside on Jericho's pals, with his compression socks actually cutting off the blood supply to his legs, leading to high blood pressure and low oxygen.

Both veterans were able to make it through the title match without fans realising anything had gone dangerously wrong in the end, but Cabana ultimately spent the next two hours being told why wrestling in front of a live crowd in restrictive socks isn't what you'd class as a smart move.
