Seth Rollins' worst match in WWE to this date has to be the Hell in a Cell match against The Fiend at the titular PPV in 2019. The fact that WWE chose to end the contest via referee stoppage went against everything Hell in a Cell stood for, and the fans didn't shy away from showing their displeasure and booed Seth Rollins out of the building.

While talking to Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions, Seth Rollins revealed that his vision for the match was different from what WWE wanted and that he was disappointed with the creative direction the company went with. He stated that he was ready to strangle Vince McMahon backstage and that Tyson Kidd, who was one of the producers, had to hold him back.

After a brief conversation with Paul Heyman, the Creative Director of Raw at the time, Rollins went to McMahon's office the next day to figure out how to take things further. Rollins was at the top of his game as a babyface by that time, and the result of the Hell in a Cell got him nuclear heat from the crowd. WWE went into damage control mode and booked Rollins to drop the title to The Fiend at the 2019 Crown Jewel PPV.
