The Undertaker remains associated with WWE, and will be, you suspect, for the remainder of his life. While not an active performer, he was pivotal to the main event of WrestleMania 40, and will inevitably pop up from time to time to endorse pushed WWE projects (by kicking their damn ass, which makes zero sense but a generation of fans don’t seem to get how warped that is, so it’s probably fine).

He’s a very good ambassador-type figure for the promotion. He isn’t dead, chiefly, so WWE can say that somebody survived and thrived through the ultra-bleak landscape of the 2000s. He’s a company legend that fans spanning multiple generations were in awe of.

Also: not that they seem to care too much, given how often they try to bring Hulk Hogan back, ‘Taker doesn’t have any dirt on him. No sponsor backlash is risked by parading him on telly and having him glare at somebody he’s meant to respect.

You can tell who he votes for, and he’s entitled to exercise that freedom - but what’s inexcusable is his choice of t-shirt worn in an infamous photo from a ‘90s magazine.

The man wore a tee emblazoned with the S.S. logo, for f*ck’s sake. He can’t plead ignorance and claim he thought it was just a biker thing, unless he’s as thick as his storyline brother.
