Most WWE live events or "house shows" pass by without too much fuss. There are a few matches, maybe a promo or two, but nothing that will shake up the company or even be referenced on TV. When things of substance do happen at live events, they tend to happen at The Garden as they two shock title swaps prove.

The first happened in July 2017 when AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens to win the United States Championship. This was strange not only because it took place at a live event, but also because Styles and Owens had a title match scheduled for Battleground in two weeks' time. Incidentally, that was the match where Owens accidentally won the belt back because they botched the finish. Whoops.

The second happened on Boxing Day 2019, when Rey Mysterio was not only unfortunate enough to be working on the day after Christmas, but also to lose his United States Championship to Andrade. Unlike Styles though, Rey would not win the title back by mistake.

These two title switches haven't been enough to convince fans that something momentous will happen at every live event, but it may have done so for those happening at MSG.
