10 Best Brock Lesnar WWE Raw Moments

Lesnar's (kayfabe) reason for returning to WWE was that WWE needed someone to 'legitimise' them. As a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, as well as an NCAA Division 1 Heavyweight Champion, Lesnar was that man. He came back to a PG-rated product and instantly shook things up with his ultra-realistic style.

First there was the pseudo-shoot video package, where he talked about being a legit ass-kicker and how he didn't care about the fans and the fame. He wanted to hurt people. He wanted to hurt John Cena, a man who would have been 'carrying Lesnar's bags' had The Next Big Thing decided to stick around in '04.

Then came their in-ring pull-apart brawl on the April 9 episode of Raw.

Moments after being introduced as the 'new face of the WWE' by General Manager John Laurinaitis, Lesnar got into it with Cena, taking him down to the mat with a double leg takedown and punching him in the face. No, like, actually hitting him in the face. Cena made it up to his feet, his mouth bloodied, while Lesnar smiled an evil smile.

The locker room emptied and managed to keep the two men apart but the intensity of the segment, along with the realism (thanks to Cena's bleeding and Lesnar's UFC aura) made fans genuinely excited for their upcoming street fight at Extreme Rules.
